Support Western Sailing

Funding for the Western Sailing Team comes from a small budget set up by Western’s Office of Campus Recreation and the Sport Club Council. The funds in this account are used for things such as travel to regattas, entry fees, and national and district dues. The team also maintains a separate boat purchasing account through The Western Foundation. Funds from this account are collected through team dues, fundraising and donations and used to acquire new equipment for the team.

To be competitive and provide a quality educational environment, the goal of the team is to purchase a new boat every two years. In 2002, thanks to hard work and generous donations, the team raised enough funds to acquire two new FJs when the district hosted the ICSA North American Championships at Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge in 2004.

For information about fundraising or making a donation, please contact our team officers.
